Did you know that 9 out of 10 people trust what a customer says about a business more than what that business says about itself? This is just one of many statistics demonstrating the crucial role that customer reviews and testimonials play in business success.
Nonetheless, many enterprises face difficulty collecting and displaying testimonials to potential customers. This can be attributed to problems in obtaining genuine testimonials, verifying authenticity, integrating them seamlessly into marketing materials, and keeping them updated.
What if there was a tool that promised to make all that easier? Well, there may just be.
This 2024 Testimonial review tests out a text and video testimonial collection tool that makes collecting and displaying customer reviews more straightforward than ever.
Where will Testimonial land on our Cooked Scale?
- Raw: Early stage minimum viable product (MVP), with missing features, and often buggy.
- Edible: Fleshed out MVP but still needs refinement — missing features, quality of life, bad UX, etc.
- Chef’s-Kiss: Great product, well refined, easy to use, lots of great features, with more to come.

What Is Testimonial?
Testimonial is a platform for collecting and displaying customer testimonials. It allows businesses to gather video and text testimonials, manage them efficiently, and embed them on websites without needing a developer or website hosting.
Key Features and Functionalities of Testimonial
What sets this testimonial collection tool apart? Here are some of the key features and functionalities.
Collection and Management
Create a unique link for your product or service and share it with customers via email, social media, or SMS. Customers can then record their testimonials on any device and upload them via the link.
There is a centralized dashboard where you can view and manage all collected testimonials to provide a clear overview of customer feedback.
Customization and Display
Testimonial gives you a wide range of customization options. You can include your branding and logo, and customize the landing page titles, messages, questions, and even the button color.
The “Wall of Love”
This is a feature that lets you showcase customer reviews on one page. In just a few steps, you can embed a showcase of testimonials on a web page with customization options for colors and display formats.
Integration and Automation
Testimonial integrates with many different applications and platforms. These include Notion, Carrd, Bubble, Portion, Gartner, NerdWallet, Quora, Twitter DMS, Pabbly, and many more.
It can be embedded on various website platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, Wix) using simple HTML coding, ensuring broad compatibility. It also supports webhooks for real-time notifications to external services.
How to Use Testimonial
Spaces are central to using Testimonial. A Space is an area where you can manage and display testimonials. Each Space acts as a separate collection area, i.e., you can use multiple spaces to categorize testimonials based on different products, services, or segments of your business.
You can create a new space on the dashboard. Here, there are two options; create from scratch or with help from AI.
Whatever option you select eventually leads to a form of the space’s detail.
When you select create from scratch, this form will be empty, as in the above image. You’ll have to fill out the details manually, which include a title, custom message, and custom questions.
You can also collect extra information, like address, social media link, title, and more, collect star ratings, and choose a custom button.
With AI assistance, you’ll only be required to provide a link to your business’ website – the AI will do the rest.
Once you’ve created your space, Testimonial gives you a link to share with customers for their testimonials.
Testimonial Review 2024: Is it Worth It?
If you’re looking for a convenient way to collect and showcase customer testimonials for your business, Testimonial does a great job. Here’s a breakdown of our Testimonial review.
Dark mode — ❌ (as of June 2024)
As of June 2024, Testimonial does not have a dark mode.
Value vs Cost rating — 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Testimonial is available in three plans, Starter ($20/month), Premium ($50/month), and Ultimate ($70/month), with the last one having the most features.
Overall, given how crucial customer reviews are to business success, Testimonial provides a lot of value. All plans offer unlimited text testimonials. However, a five-star rating is denied because lower-tier plans are disproportionately under-featured, especially the starter pack.
Starter only offers 1 space 2 video testimonials while premium and ultimate offer 2 spaces and unlimited video testimonials. Premium subscribers can add up to 8 spaces for $25/month per space while ultimate subscribers can add unlimited spaces for $35/month per space.
Functionality — 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
There’s little to fault in Testimonial’s functionality. The tool greatly streamlines collecting and displaying customer testimonials. And with AI, the process is even simpler – the AI does a pretty good job at filling in the Space details from just a link.
Testimonial also features plenty of integrations, making it usable across many platforms.
Originality — 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Testimonial certainly falls under the category of unique SaaS products, with only a handful of other platforms offering the same service. However, its comprehensive suite of features and integrations takes it a step above the rest.
